Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EduSeat, a digital attendance platform operated by Alphastrive Company Limited("Alphastrive", "EduSeat", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using EduSeat, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

EduSeat allows universities and polytechnics to manage class attendance digitally. Students check into lecture sessions using the EduSeat mobile app, lecturers start and manage sessions, and university administrators manage rosters, courses, and attendance reporting.

3. User Responsibilities

• Keep your account password and login credentials confidential and secure.
• Do not check in to a session on behalf of another student ("proxy attendance").
• Do not attempt to bypass, spoof, or otherwise manipulate geolocation checks used to verify physical presence.
• Provide accurate information when registering or updating your profile.

4. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with EduSeat.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the availability or performance of the platform.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.

5. University Obligations

Universities and polytechnics using EduSeat agree to:

• Provide accurate student, staff, and course data for upload or synchronization.
• Designate at least one authorized administrator responsible for managing their institution's account.
• Comply with applicable data protection laws, including the NDPR, when handling data accessed via EduSeat.

6. Intellectual Property

The EduSeat platform, including its software, design, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Alphastrive Company Limited. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the platform — only a limited, non-transferable right to use it as intended.

7. Availability and Uptime

We aim to keep EduSeat available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, or unforeseen technical issues may temporarily affect availability. To report an outage or technical issue, contact support@eduseat.ng.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alphastrive Company Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, EduSeat, including but not limited to loss of academic records, missed classes, or disciplinary consequences resulting from attendance data.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to EduSeat if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activity, or if required to do so by your university. A university may also request suspension of accounts belonging to its own staff or students.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
